The Torino president disclosed that the club had been tracking Simeone since January of last season and made a strategic decision to secure his signature early in the summer transfer window. "This summer I told the coach to take him immediately and anticipate everyone instead of chasing another difficult-to-get striker," Cairo explained, noting that the swift acquisition has proven to be "an excellent thing to have done."
