Speaking on Rai Radio 1's Radio Anch'io Sport program, Cairo emphasized that the club considers Simeone "an acquired player" following his decisive goal in Saturday's victory over Napoli.
The Torino president disclosed that the club had been tracking Simeone since January of last season and made a strategic decision to secure his signature early in the summer transfer window. "This summer I told the coach to take him immediately and anticipate everyone instead of chasing another difficult-to-get striker," Cairo explained, noting that the swift acquisition has proven to be "an excellent thing to have done." The forward's performance in the early season has justified the club's confidence in his abilities.
Cairo praised Simeone's immediate impact and integration into the team, highlighting his embodiment of the "Toro spirit" that is "very important for the team and for all of us."
