The Basilicata Region has taken a significant step towards enhancing its emergency medical services by announcing a recruitment drive for the 118 territorial emergency healthcare service. Published in the Official Bulletin of the Basilicata Region, No. 26 of May 12, 2025, the notice aims to fill 79 vacant positions across various districts, ensuring a swift and adequate response to health emergencies throughout the region.

Regional Health Councilor Cosimo Latronico emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, 'The publication of the notice is a crucial move to strengthen our region's emergency healthcare system. By continuously striving to attract qualified professionals, we aim to provide all Lucanian citizens with rapid and appropriate responses in case of health emergencies.' The call is open to interested doctors who meet the specified requirements, offering them a 20-day window to submit their applications.

The vacancies are distributed across several areas, including Vulture - Alto Bradano, Val d'Agri - Marmo Platano, Potenza, Lagonegrese - Pollino, Matera - Medio Basento, and Metaponto e collina materana. This strategic allocation is designed to address the specific needs of each district, improving the overall quality and timeliness of emergency healthcare services in Basilicata.

Applications must be submitted to the Potenza Health Authority (ASP), which is responsible for collecting submissions and assigning positions.
